Join John Handley OBE for a tour of the restoration work that is currently taking place.
On June 4th, 2025, Cheshire East Planning gave the green light for two vital planning applications, 24/0920D and 24/2020D, to restore an additional six compartments of the cutover peat bog at Lindow Moss.
At the start of February, the owners of Lindow Moss started to move ahead with their restoration work, a project that will slow the release of CO₂ from the bog and, over time, transform it into a net carbon sink and support further biodiversity.
Now that Lindow Moss is free from machinery, we're running a guided walk to inform participants about the restoration work.
The walk will meet where Moor Lane and Rotherwood Road meet (What 3 words - paddle.weeknight.evenly) and will loop round the cut over peatbog. The walk will cover no more than 3km and will be at a leisurely pace. It will last approximately 1hour45 minutes.
The walk is on uneven terrain and is exceptionally muddy in places, so good waterproof boots are recommended.
The walk will include stop starting at various points, and will go ahead whatever the weather. Please dress appropriately!
Please select the correct ticket for the date and time that you'd like to join.
