VISIT AND EXPLORE
Come and visit Lindow Moss and understand more about this ancient landscape. The Lindow Moss Heritage Trail is now available and takes you on a journey across the area with plenty of points of interest along the way.

Getting here
By bus - the 88 bus drops off from Wilmslow train station at both the Lindow Common and at the end of Moor Lane, from here it is a 10 minute walk to the cut over peat bog.

By train - The closest station is Wilmslow, and from here you can catch the 88 bus to Lindow Common, or if you'd like to walk, it's a 2.5 mile walk.
By car - the best car park is Lindow Common, which is also the start of the Heritage Trail. Lindow Common car park is a free car park, but is only small. If you can't get a space, please park sensibly so as not to disturb local residents. This is a 10 minute walk from the cut over peat bog.

Facilities

Sadly, there are no facilities on Lindow Moss, however there are plenty of brilliant cafes close to the site.

Opening times and pricing

The site is open 24/7, 365 days of the year. It's completely free to walk round and enjoy! Dogs are allowed, but we'd prefer for them to be kept on leads at all times.

Accessibility

There is no specific disabled parking near the cut over peat bog, and it is very uneven with deep mud, deep peat and some large tree roots, making it unsuitable for wheelchair users. However, Lindow Common has a series of paved paths that are suitable for wheelchair users.
We are currently working on improving accessibility to the site.

Walk Routes
We have two walk routes, the Heritage Trail is a 3.5 mile walk, and the Lindow Moss Loop is 7 .5 miles. The GPX files for the Loop can be found here. The GPX for the Heritage Trail can be found here.
